YouTube has started labeling songs created primarily with generative AI.
In an Oct 14 blog post, YouTube said tracks where AI played a significant role, such as a generative model creating the composition and vocals, will get a label on the YouTube Music player page first, expanding to the main YouTube app. It uses music partners and its own detection tools to identify them.
The Verge noted the label won't apply to every use of AI tools in a song.
