Consulting giant Accenture will now centrally fund only $29 a month per employee for Claude.
404 Media reported on Oct 15 that an internal notice, "Claude Enterprise Users: Important Updates to Licensing and Usage Costs," says that from Oct 1 anything above $29 is billed by consumption to a specific project budget. Employees who had been spending as much as $1,000 a month are hunting for projects to cover it. Staff on the Premium plan, which includes $250 of tokens a week, are less affected.
The notice warns that a license "does not guarantee indefinite or ongoing access." 404 Media noted the "special irony" for a firm that urges clients to invest heavily in AI. Reporter Joseph Cox's post drew 3,900 likes on X. The same day, Anthropic named Accenture as one of its outside safety evaluators.
“New: Accenture has told employees it will only fund $29 per month of Claude use.”
