Open-source coding agent OpenCode made DeepSeek's V4.1 Flash model free for a limited time.

OpenCode's Oct 15 post, "DeepSeek V4.1 Flash is now free in OpenCode," passed 20,000 likes and 2.4 million views. OpenCode's docs say the free version is time-limited and its provider keeps no data and does not train on it. A reply noting the free tier has a 200K context window drew 1,600 likes.

Early users praised the speed. One posted a clip, saying it "hasn't been sped up at all," and that the model launches subagents without problems. On Oct 12 OpenCode had already offered $80 of DeepSeek V4.1 Flash usage as a promotion.
