Anthropic projected that the share of its next-generation model development led by Claude could reach 80–90% next year.
Anthropic's Michael Sellitto said so at an IMF panel on AI and escalating cyber risks on Oct 16. According to Andrew Curran, who transcribed the remarks, Sellitto said the share went from zero at the start of the year to 3% in April and 26% in August, and that the share of company code written by Claude jumped from 50% last August to 80–90% by year-end. Curran said it was the first time Anthropic had given a projection for next year.
The same day Anthropic's developer account said "Claude writes about 90% of Claude Code's code" and described its review process. From June to September merged PRs more than doubled while the share reverted fell by more than 40%. The post drew 4,100 likes. Curran also wrote that Anthropic "has singlehandedly compressed RSI timelines by about a year."
