Codex limits"Pro $200 Codex limit halves on the 30th": Kai video hits 33,000 views, top comment jokes "my videos will be 50% shorter"

A YouTube video titled "OpenAI Quietly Cuts Your Codex Usage by 50%" passed 33,000 views in under a day. Channel Kai said in the Oct 28 video that OpenAI will cut Codex limits on the $200 ChatGPT Pro plan from Oct 30.

The description says Pro 200 drops from 20x to 10x Plus, and GPT-6 Pro messages from 200 to 100 a week. The channel's own math says the cut varies by model: 50% for GPT-6 Astra, 24% for GPT-6.1 Sol against September, none for GPT-6.1 Terra, and close to 85% for heavy users used to resets. It also notes 12 usage resets in the previous 23 days.

Those numbers are the channel's. OpenAI's pricing page, checked Oct 29, carries no Oct 30 notice, only a line that Pro plans have no five-hour limit.

Comments leaned negative. The top comment (98 likes) joked that Kai's videos will be 50% shorter after Oct 30. Others: "Every service goes through the Netflix cycle. The belt tightens" (35) and "a 50% cut in throughput removes 95% of the value" (25).
