Anthropic added a gallery of ready-to-use artifacts to Claude for Legal on Oct. 28, covering tasks such as reviewing a stack of contracts, tracking regulatory changes and taking in legal requests from the business.
Reaction on X split. The official Claude post drew 19,000 likes. One user wrote that Claude is "destroying 1000 legaltech startups" (2,400 likes); another posted that lawyers are watching Claude "automate half their job with a single release" (4,200).
Anthropic says artifacts are interactive tools such as trackers and dashboards. Each opens with an example, users add their own documents and connectors, and every answer links to its source. "A legal professional brings their own documents and sources, Claude completes the first pass, and a lawyer applies their judgment," the post says. Claude for Legal has added more than 60 connectors since its May launch, including Bloomberg Law, Filevine and Legora.
Unlike the meme, legal tech firms and law firms are in the gallery. Anthropic said it built artifacts with them and that Legora and Orrick have more coming. A quote in the post from Spellbook says nearly 500,000 contracts a month move through it and "we wouldn't be here without Claude."
“New in Claude for Legal: a gallery of ready-made artifacts for contract review, regulatory horizon scans, cite checks, and more.”
