KoreaAn AI-sung ballad hits No. 3 on Melon — the songwriters say only the lyrics were human

"Have You Become the Adult You Dreamed Of?", a song whose melody and vocals were made with AI, reached No. 3 on Melon's Top 100 and No. 2 on YouTube Music. In an AI Times interview published Oct 25, songwriting duo Gloriwave (Lee Yong-seok and Choi Sung-hyuk), who have worked with Hwang Chi-yeul and Gilgu Bonggu, said they released it under their AI music project 'Meomureu.' They wrote the lyrics, generated melody, arrangement and vocals with Suno, then edited in Cubase. Released June 23, it peaked at No. 3 on Oct 13, and its video has 12.95 million views. The duo said they fixed AI's awkward Korean pronunciation by rewriting lyrics, and called for standards that distinguish what humans actually contributed.
