Korea'AI agents instead of new hires': MBC's PD Su-cheop analyzes 10.41 million job postings
MBC's investigative program PD Su-cheop analyzed 10.41 million job postings from the past six years to trace how AI is affecting young job seekers.
Per bnt News on Oct 19, the second part of its two-part special 'AI Dilemma,' airing Oct 20 at 10:20 PM KST, reported from Korea, China and Japan over four months. An HR official at a large company said they now work with several AI agents in place of new hires, and a recruiting consultant said hiring freezes for entry-level roles are spreading at big firms.
The analysis found that jobs more exposed to AI favor experienced hires over new graduates. The program shows applicants who passed the CPA exam or had perfect TOEIC scores and internships still being rejected dozens of times.
A Japanese IT firm hires newcomers with no programming experience and trains them alongside seniors, and Shanghai gives young founders offices, housing and compute. In Korea, hundreds compete for AI clubs and an AI job-prep course costs 8.58 million won.
