xAI's Grok Bot can now save users' logins, cards and contact information. "Add them once, and Bot securely remembers them for the future," the official account posted on Oct 24, drawing 4,600 likes and 746 replies.
A day earlier, Grok Bot added integration with phone apps. "Grok Bot is an incredible life & business manager… Like having a genius employee," Elon Musk wrote, in a post with more than 23,000 likes.
The pushback is getting louder. Bank of Montreal CEO Darryl White warned about Meta's Muse agent: "Don't do it, there are no frameworks… Don't give your banking username and password." The Global News clip passed 68,000 views, and the top comment, "I don't know why anyone would give AI banking access," drew 134 likes. On Oct 22 Axios reported that major U.S. banks had started blocking unauthorized AI agents found in customer accounts.
One reply under the announcement asked Grok Bot to import from 1Password and cancel the 1Password subscription. On Oct 22, 1Password launched a way for agents to sign in without seeing passwords, listing Grok Bot among its integrations.
“Grok @Bot is an incredible life & business manager. Can help you with almost anything! Like having a genius employee.”
