A playable 3D game in six weeks with no coding background? Reddit roasts the Claude-built Godot project for its third-person post
A post that hit the top of r/ClaudeAI on Oct 24 says someone with no coding or game-dev background spent six weeks turning their own drawings into a playable 3D game with Claude Code and Opus 5.5. The game mixes Ragnarok Online with Monster Hunter, is built in the open-source Godot engine, and runs on a Claude Max 20x plan.
The developer works one feature at a time: idea, research, implementation, then testing in the game. The post shares three custom Claude skills: "route," which sends suitable work to Sonnet or Haiku with Opus reviewing; "handoff," which opens a fresh session with the same setup when context fills up; and "Re-searcher," which checks research claims and saves them to Obsidian. Large 3D assets come from Tripo P2, smaller ones from Blender.
The comments went elsewhere. According to a moderator bot's summary of 100 comments, the top replies roasted the author for writing about "the solo dev" in the third person. Developers called it a nice tech demo (a character, a bear, some grass) and said six weeks for a full game loop is unrealistic.
Others pushed back that "six weeks is an eternity in AI time," and several said Opus 5.5 handles GDScript better than Unity or Unreal. Many asked for the handoff and Re-searcher skills.
