Anthropic said on Oct 24 that Claude now supports MCP Tasks and Elicitations. Plugins can take on long-running jobs and report back when done, or stop mid-task to ask the user for input.
According to @ClaudeDevs, Tasks let Claude give plugins long jobs such as deep research and get results when they finish. Elicitations let plugins ask for input mid-task, such as confirming a refund or filling in a missing detail. Both are available today in the Claude Code CLI and roll out to more Claude products soon. The announcement drew 3,300 likes and 1,400 bookmarks.
