CopyrightSony Music has now asked platforms to pull more than 260,000 AI deepfake songs

Sony Music has filed takedown requests for more than 260,000 AI deepfake tracks, the Financial Times reported on October 5, nearly double the roughly 135,000 at the end of March. From April through September it averaged more than 20,000 requests a month, targeting soundalikes of Harry Styles, Adele, Britney Spears, Queen and Michael Jackson.

Sony said it expects platforms to act quickly and stop the same content from reappearing, but called it an uphill struggle. How many tracks were actually removed was not disclosed.
