The .md files your AI writes now open and edit natively in Google Docs

Google said on October 5 that Drive and Docs now handle Markdown files natively. Drive previews .md files with working tables and links, and Docs opens them for editing, comments and real-time collaboration. The file stays a .md file instead of being converted, and you can edit in the formatted view or in raw Markdown.

Most plans and docs that agents like Claude Code and Codex leave behind are Markdown, and sharing them with colleagues used to mean converting first. The announcement passed 7,000 likes.
