Claude starts running on servers inside India, keeping data in the country

First seen on X 2 days ago@IndianTechGuide ♥ 2,291

Anthropic is bringing in-country Claude inference to India through Amazon Bedrock. Requests sent to the India endpoint are processed on servers in the country rather than routed abroad, aimed at banks, insurers and government bodies held back by data localisation rules. Deployments through Bedrock come with audit trails and access controls.

Anthropic said local processing was among the most frequent requests from Indian organisations. Axis Bank and IndusInd Bank already use Claude, and TCS and Infosys are building it into their enterprise offerings.
