Grok Bot phoned Comcast and negotiated a lower bill — but admitted it can't see the sky

"I don't actually have eyes on the sky." That's what xAI's Grok Bot told a Comcast rep who asked about the weather, according to a post that passed 540,000 views on X.

Peter Yang (@petergyang) shared a 20-second clip of the call on Nov. 3 (about 1,500 likes). He says the bot told the rep a competitor was offering a much lower price, then negotiated both a price cut and a faster speed. A full video is on YouTube.

Yang says all Grok Bot users can now call US businesses: ask the bot to dial a number and give it context up front. The call used 3% of his usage limit. The official Grok Bot account separately launched a shopping feature the same day (about 3,300 likes): find the best deal, compare items, track orders.

Replies joked that Xfinity will add a "must be human" clause to its contracts, and one user worried usage caps will tighten. The post does not say how much the bill dropped.

“Try the new shopping experience in Grok Bot. Find the best deal, compare items, and have Bot track all your orders.”
