Codex limits reset 11 times this month — Day 23 of OpenAI's 28-day pledge, and the post hit 980,000 views

Tibo, who works on OpenAI's Codex team, posted on X on Oct. 28: "Day 23/ Much requested iCloud Mail & Calendar plugins. Just kidding, today is a reset." The post passed 980,000 views and 7,000 likes.

Earlier this month Tibo reportedly promised that for 28 days the team would either ship a clear improvement every day or reset everyone's usage limits for that day. In a reply he said the reset would land "by midnight PST."

Another user's post saying "OpenAI has reset Codex limits 11 times this month" drew 1,100 likes. Replies included "There's not a single highlight, might as well rename it '28 Days Reset Chance'" (266 likes), "Why is our subscription burning so much quicker now? It seems a lot more than 2-4x" (344) and "Can we just do this until the new year?" (322).

Limit complaints are showing up on the Anthropic side too. A post on r/ClaudeAI reading "Claude Code usage exploded 8x today — Anthropic confirmed service errors consume our paid limits and won't compensate" made the day's top posts, as did one on r/ClaudeCode about a Max 20x weekly limit depleted in under 2.5 days. Neither claim has been verified.
