Employees at Electronic Arts told a new report that morale is 'terrible' and that generative AI like Claude is 'heavily pushed', after another round of layoffs last week, Destructoid said on X on Oct. 27 (1,200 likes).
A year ago, Business Insider reported that EA leadership urged nearly 15,000 employees to use AI for 'just about everything' and that developers often had to fix code from the in-house chatbot. A former senior Respawn QA worker suspected an AI tool summarizing playtester feedback played a part in his layoff; causation is unconfirmed.
CEO Andrew Wilson has said AI is helping rather than costing jobs.
“After more EA layoffs last week, a new report cites workers at the company complaining of "terrible" morale and "heavily pushed" generative AI like Claude.”
