Amp now runs on your Claude Pro or Max plan at no extra cost, just pick the Claude Code mode

Coding agent Amp said on October 10 that you can now link a Claude Pro or Max subscription and use it inside Amp, free and open to everyone. When you start a thread, pick Mode > Claude Code, or press Ctrl+S in the CLI. Amp asks you to link the subscription the first time, or you can link it ahead of time under Settings > Model Routing.

The mode runs on Anthropic's Claude Agent SDK instead of Amp's own agent, but Amp says the rest still works: orbs and runners, thread sharing, multiplayer and thread-to-thread messaging. Only the Claude Code mode is covered by the plan; Amp's own modes such as medium, high and ultra are not. Claude's help center says Agent SDK and third-party app usage draws from your subscription limits.
