KoreaKorea's media regulator will review sexual AI chat services next month and asks 15 firms to tighten teen protections
Korea's Broadcasting, Media and Communications Standards Commission will begin formal reviews next month of AI chat services that generate sexualized characters and conversations.
Per Yonhap on Oct 21, the commission met with 15 AI chat operators to share monitoring results. It found character images with excessive exposure and cases where the AI produced sexual descriptions when users typed suggestive prompts.
The commission asked operators to strengthen filters on inputs and outputs, separate adult content and make sure age verification can't be bypassed. Operators agreed on the need but cited the strain on startups. Reviews are set to begin in November.
