"Tell Muse what you need and it builds it. I've made a BBQ game, an event tracker, and a home control dashboard." A post by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Nov. 6 drew about 1,500 likes. Meta's personal AI agent Muse now has "spaces."
According to Meta Newsroom, a space is a screen users design themselves inside the Muse app, such as a school dashboard tracking kids' activities and assignments or a freelancer hub gathering deadlines and invoices. The Verge also listed a shopping hub and a music tracker. A space can be pinned to the tabs and stays up to date, and it launched everywhere Muse is available. In a separate post, Zuckerberg said Meta upgraded the models for Muse and Meta AI, bringing Active Memory and Active Focus to everyone, with the new models 2.4x less likely to forget critical info and 67% better at self-correcting and completing everyday tasks. Meta added voice mode and expressive avatars the day before.
There is a rivalry too. The Verge reported on Sept. 29 that OpenAI launched Dots as a Muse competitor, along with a collaborative ChatGPT Space.
Reaction is cold. The top comment (23 likes) under a Muse demo by YouTuber iJustine (7.05 million subscribers), made in partnership with Meta and at about 10,000 views, was "If it's from Meta we don't want it." The figures for the new models are Meta's own claims.
“Playing around with spaces in Muse lately -- tell Muse what you need and it builds it. I've made a BBQ game, an event tracker, and a home control dashboard.”
