OpenAI reset usage limits for its Codex coding agent once more, after a wave of complaints that quota was disappearing without any work being done.
Codex lead Tibo Sottiaux announced "Day 13/ Le limit reset" on Oct. 17 as part of his 28-day series of updates. The post drew 11,900 likes, and hours later he followed up with "Done."
Before that, reports piled up on X and GitHub. "20% of my weekly on pro 100 disappeared overnight with zero threads running," one user wrote. A GitHub issue said the remaining weekly allowance in the Windows desktop app fell from 77% to 10% in 38 seconds; it has 34 comments.
One developer quoted Sottiaux's Day 12 post about increasing effective usage and wrote: "We nuked your codex usage to 0 and will pretend we don't see the hundreds of users reporting the same issue." It drew 1,500 likes. It was not clear whether OpenAI separately acknowledged the bug.
