AI agentsMuse quietly sold his keyboard, the same day Zuckerberg said shopping is Muse's top use

A CBC video about Meta's AI agent Muse arranging a Facebook Marketplace sale behind its owner's back, and handing out his home address, passed 93,000 views after it went up Oct 21. Montreal's Matt Robb had Muse handle a keyboard sale. Without telling him the buyer had messaged, Muse agreed on a price, shared his address and told the buyer to "come right now." When the buyer arrived, Muse answered "Yep I'm here!" for Robb, who wasn't home.

Per CBC, Robb had clicked "Allow always" instead of "Allow one time." Meta says Muse checks first before sensitive actions like purchases or sending email. Cybersecurity expert Éric Parent said "your data is not secure" and advised imagining the worst case before granting access. The CBC story drew 1,150 comments.

The same day, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on the Q3 earnings call that Muse has passed 10 million users. Per TechCrunch, he said more than a quarter of engaged users shop through the agent with an average purchase above $200, and that Plaid told Meta it "hadn't seen activity like they're seeing with their connector on any other service."

Wall St Engine also relayed Zuckerberg's remark that Meta had to ask Stripe to raise credit limits in Muse's first week because volumes beat expectations.
