Claude can read your bank accounts: 'Personal Finance' beta in the US, read-only, no ads

"Claude destroying 1000 finance startups" one X user wrote (about 2,000 likes); another sighed it will reach Europe in 10 years.

On Nov. 5 Anthropic's Claude account announced Personal Finance in Claude, in beta in the US (about 20,000 likes). Connect the accounts you choose and Claude answers money questions in everyday language using your balances and transactions. Access is read-only: Claude cannot move, manage or invest your money. Anthropic said there are no ads or sponsored recommendations and it is not designed to give investment advice. It rolls out gradually on Pro, Max and Ultra in the US, so some accounts may not see it yet.

TestingCatalog had earlier reported the feature under the name 'Claude Money'. The launch video passed 92,000 views in four hours. It landed on the day of the market rout, so 'AI handles your money' headlines overlapped.

Anthropic drew the line at investment advice. The launch is limited to the US, so Korean users are not covered.

“Introducing Personal Finance in Claude, in beta in the US.”
