From October 9, free Gemini users get only Flash-Lite

Google is changing model access by plan in the Gemini app on October 9. Free users will get only Flash-Lite and lose the Flash and Pro models they have now. AI Plus at $4.99 a month keeps Flash-Lite and Flash but loses Pro. AI Pro at $19.99 a month keeps Pro and gains Deep Think, which until now was limited to Ultra.

Deep Think is a reasoning mode that explores several solution paths in parallel before answering. The Gemini app is also getting low, medium and high effort settings for each model, and higher effort gives more thorough answers but uses more of your limit. Where Gemini 4 Argon will fit is not yet clear.
