Markets & AI · Weekly recap

Six timeline signals revisited: the Anthropic IPO-delay talk became news in 9 hours

We rechecked the six X posts we ran this week as 'Timeline signals' in our Markets & AI section. Three were followed by news reports; three have no report or official statement yet. We list the results as they are, not just the hits.

  1. Anthropic IPO delay talk: ran Nov 6, 7:57 a.m. KST → reported that afternoon

On the morning of Nov 6 we ran posts saying Anthropic's listing might slip. That afternoon ZDNet Korea (5:02 p.m. KST, citing Reuters) and Korea Economic Daily (5:53 p.m.) reported worries about a delayed schedule, a lower valuation and a possible postponement of the Nov 9 investor briefing. No schedule change is confirmed.

  2. 'Rug pull' warning on subsidized AI plans: ran Nov 3 → Grok limits re-reported Nov 5; Replit remark unconfirmed

The Grok Bot limit cut was already covered by Gadget Review when we ran it. Dataconomy followed on Nov 5 with Musk saying serving costs were 'unsustainably high relative to revenue.' We found no independent report of the Replit CEO's warning beyond the Polymarket post.

  3. SpaceX 13GW AI cloud forecast: ran Nov 4 → no follow-up

Based on a SemiAnalysis analysis. As of Nov 7 we found no separate report confirming 13GW and no SpaceX statement.

  4. OpenAI GPT-6.2 'Friday' launch rumor: ran Nov 5 → no official announcement

Based on a post citing The Information. Posts about model names on Google Cloud followed, but as of Nov 7 morning OpenAI's announcements and API changelog do not list GPT-6.2. The rumor is neither confirmed nor refuted.

  5. 'Paying users noticed AI got dumber' post: ran Nov 7 → not yet reported

A finance account's Nov 6 post drew about 2,600 likes. No provider response or measurement data has appeared, and no follow-up article.

  6. Microsoft-Oracle contract not renewed: ran Nov 7 → Bloomberg original not found

Polymarket posted 'per Bloomberg'. By midday we found neither the Bloomberg piece nor a statement from either company. A separate June report about Microsoft dropping a $3 billion Oracle lease was called 'inaccurate' by Oracle.

  7. How to read this

Timeline signals are posts that appear before the news, so they can be wrong. This is not investment advice.
