AI investment"Will all the neoclouds collapse?" video passes 140,000 views; KB economist: "Not a collapse, a normalization"
The YouTube channel Gyoyangi Please's video "Brace yourselves: will AI neoclouds all collapse?" posted Nov. 1 passed 140,000 views. Its description says that after Gartner warned that 80% of neocloud firms cannot survive independently, CoreWeave's bond prices fell, AI infrastructure stocks dropped 10% a day and the KOSPI wobbled.
KB Kookmin Bank economist Yoo Shin-ik said "this is not a collapse, it's finally normalizing." Money had flowed too easily to highly leveraged neoclouds, he argued, and if cash-rich Big Tech buys the fallen firms cheaply, the sector gets stronger. But weak firms will really die and the gap between winners and losers will widen cruelly, he warned. His reason: AI investment is practically the only engine of U.S. growth.
Gartner's forecast came in mid-October; per 247WallSt, it projects that more than 80% of independent neoclouds will stop operating independently by 2030. That includes mergers and acquisitions, so it is not the same as 'collapse.'
