Money & marketsAnthropic filing shows it could pay SpaceX's xAI up to $84.5 billion for compute

According to Anthropic's confidential IPO prospectus, reported by Reuters on September 29, Anthropic could pay up to $84.5 billion through 2029 to Elon Musk's xAI, part of SpaceX, for Nvidia-based computing capacity. The capacity comes from SpaceX's Colossus 1 data center. SpaceX's own IPO paperwork earlier showed about $45 billion, from $1.25 billion a month for three years, so the figure has nearly doubled. The agreement can be terminated with 90 days' written notice.

The filing also says Anthropic expects to spend at least $518 billion over the next decade with six infrastructure partners, including $111.1 billion to Google, $110 billion to Amazon and $31.4 billion to Microsoft.
