Anthropic's developer account recommends running Haiku 5.5 as a subagent under Opus 5.5 or Sonnet 5.5. It suggests high-volume, cost-sensitive work such as summaries, compaction and database queries.

Boris Cherny of Claude Code said that with a 100K-token context, Haiku 5.5 is 10 times cheaper than Haiku 4.5. For long material, splitting it to stay under 100K tokens per call keeps the bill down.
