More people say they're already using Fable 5.5, and Anthropic is silent

Posts from people who say they have used Fable 5.5, a model Anthropic has not released, are spreading on X. The claim is that some accounts showing Fable 5.1 on the web are quietly routed to 5.5. On October 1, @chetaslua posted a Superman animation said to be made with 5.5 that passed 590,000 views, and on October 2 @cherry_mx_reds wrote "I asked for a dot. Fable 5.5 gave me a Pixar side quest," which drew more than 5,000 likes. @imjustnewatai said a single prompt about all of human progress produced a three-minute animated film with an original score.

@pankajkumar_dev borrowed an account routed to 5.5 and called it the best model they had ever used. Even a minimal prompt gets extra creativity, 3D and web design come out well in one shot, and the sound is noticeably better. @blueemi99, who asked for a motion video, wrote that the sloppiness of Opus 5.5 is gone.

Nothing is confirmed. Anthropic's Fable page still lists only Fable 5.1 (released September 1, $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output) as current and does not mention 5.5. The fable-5-5 docs URL that @CodexResets1 found on October 2 returns a 404. It could be a trace of preparation, but for now it is a rumor.
