Anthropic이 AI 발전 상황을 공개 추적하겠다며 지표 세 가지를 내놨다. AI R&D 중 AI가 하는 비중, 에이전트가 얼마나 감독되는지, 그리고 능력 수준이다. 이 중 첫 번째가 눈에 띈다. 사내 AI 연구개발 업무의 26%를 AI가 수행하고 있고, 이는 2월의 1% 미만에서 반년 만에 오른 숫자다. "AI가 협업 이상" 수준의 작업 비중은 90%를 넘는다. 연구·엔지니어링 업무를 도는 에이전트가 약 3만 개라는 언급도 나왔다. AI가 다음 버전의 AI를 만드는 일이 이미 진행 중이라는 걸 만든 쪽이 숫자로 인정한 셈이다.

답글에서 26%라는 숫자를 따지는 사람은 거의 없었다. 대신 "안전이 아니라 규제 포획과 돈 얘기", "그렇게 말하면서 지금까지 공개 모델 하나도 안 냈다", "우리가 쓸 수도 없는 내부 모델 얘기를 왜 하냐"는 반응이 줄줄이 달렸다. 감속을 요구하는 쪽이 동시에 가장 빨리 달리고 있다는 모순을 지적하는 글이 가장 많았다.
