How to install Superpowers 7.0 in Claude Code and pin down requirements with the new brainstorming

Superpowers is a skills bundle that makes Claude Code ask about requirements before writing code, then run TDD through subagents once there's a plan. Version 7.0.0 (October 10) rebuilt the first step, the brainstorming skill, from scratch. It asks what you want and why before it proposes anything.

1. Install from the official marketplace, which now carries 7.0.0.

If it's already installed, update it from your shell.

If you see Run /reload-plugins, run /reload-plugins or start a new session.

1. Brainstorming kicks in on its own when you ask Claude to build something. To call it directly, prefix the plugin name.

1. Its first message is two lines: an offer to skip the questions and just start, and one open question about a real moment or concrete picture. If you skip, it states choices like platform or language in one line and gets to work.

2. As it understands each part, it plays that part back in a few hundred words and marks its guesses as guesses. Correct it on the spot. It also asks whether you want to own choices like platform, language and libraries; hand them over and it picks defaults and tells you what it picked.

3. Only after it understands does it size the work. A quick, clear task gets done right away. A small change gets agreed in chat and a project gets a design document, and you can override that call. A fresh subagent reads the design as the person who'll build it, and the open questions come back to you in one round.

The Superpowers in Codex's official plugin marketplace is still 6.3.0, without the new brainstorming. If a session goes sideways, type "figure out what went wrong with superpowers in this session" and the diagnosing-superpowers skill reads the transcript and points out what went wrong.
