How to copy Codex CLI's latest response with /copy
In Codex CLI, /copy puts the latest completed response on your clipboard. Use it when dragging over a long answer in the terminal breaks line wraps or indentation. Since 0.162.0 (October 8) you can also move through earlier transcript blocks and copy them.
Type /copy in the composer and press Enter.
/copy
You can also press Ctrl+O from the main TUI without opening the slash menu. If a turn is still running, it copies the latest completed output instead of the in-progress one. It isn't available before the first completed output or right after a rollback.
To select only part of an answer, turn on raw scrollback mode. It makes terminal selection more direct, and Alt+R toggles it too.
/raw on
To keep it on by default, add it to your config.
# ~/.codex/config.toml
[tui]
raw_output_mode = true
From 0.162.0, Ctrl+Insert also copies a selection. The same release added tui.mouse_scroll_speed for mouse-wheel scrolling, but its value format isn't documented yet.
