How to queue a message to an existing Codex session and resume an unloaded thread with codex queue --resume

codex queue puts a text message into an existing session. Codex CLI 0.166.0 adds a --resume option, so after queueing the message it can also resume a thread that isn't loaded yet.

  1. Update Codex to 0.166.0 or later.
npm install -g @openai/codex@0.166.0
  1. Pass the session ID or session name to --thread and queue your message. If several sessions share a name, use the UUID.
codex queue --thread <SESSION_ID> --message "Run the remaining checks"
  1. To also resume a thread that isn't running, add --resume.
codex queue --thread <SESSION_ID> --message "Run the remaining checks" --resume

Image attachments aren't supported. The release notes mention --resume in a single line and the official CLI docs for codex queue don't list it yet, so I couldn't confirm any other behavior.
