How to search settings with /config and set a leader key in Codex CLI 0.163

Codex CLI 0.163.0 shipped on October 15. It adds a /config screen for searching and changing settings in place, and a configurable leader key.

1. Update first.

npm install -g @openai/codex@0.163.0

1. Type /config in the composer. You can search preferences across categories, supported settings change immediately, and changes that need a restart are flagged.

1. Set the leader key in /keymap. The default is Ctrl+X. After you press it, shortcut hints stay open until you choose one or cancel. Voice mute moves to F9.

/keymap

Bindings you change in /keymap are written under tui.keymap in config.toml. Key names look like ctrl-a, shift-enter and page-down, and an empty list unbinds the action. The config key for the leader itself isn't documented yet, so change it from the /keymap screen.

Starting with this version, sending a follow-up while Codex is responding steers it immediately. Interrupting a turn also stops active Code Mode cells and their nested tool calls.
