Fable 대신 Opus 5.5로 바꾸면 Claude 한도가 4배 넘게 늘어난다
Claude 한도가 갑자기 넉넉해졌다는 글이 주말 내내 돌았다. "거의 못 쓸 수준이던 한도가 사실상 무제한이 됐다"는 글에는 좋아요가 1만 1천 개 붙었다. 설명은 대체로 모델 쪽을 가리킨다. 한 개발자가 꼽은 이유는 두 가지로, Claude Code 구독에서 Fable 5.1은 전체 한도의 절반까지만 쓸 수 있고 Opus 5.5는 같은 High 설정에서 Fable 5.1보다 두 배 넘게 싸다. 계산해 보면 이렇다. Fable 5.1 High에서 Opus 5.5 High로 옮기면 쓸 수 있는 양이 대략 4.3배, Fable 5.1 xhigh에서 옮기면 6.6배다. 똑같이 옮겼다는 사람은 1.82달러짜리 Opus high가 5.98달러짜리 Fable xhigh보다 낫다며 사용량 걱정이 사라졌다고 답글을 달았다. 값 얘기도 나왔다. Codex가 주는 전체 사용량은 여전히 Claude보다 많지만, GPT-6 Astra는 100만 토큰당 입력 10달러·출력 50달러이고 Opus 5.5는 4달러·20달러라 같은 한도로도 Opus 5.5가 훨씬 오래 간다.

Now it’s ChatGPT the one who hits limits in 5 minutes, but works better than Claude. Just a matter of time until they switch again, the Claude will be better, but hit limits in 5 minutes.

- @theoWhy does Opus 5.5 feel practically unlimited when Fable 5.1 was so heavily limited? It's a combination of two things: Opus's efficiency, and the 50% limit on Fable. Claude Code subs are very generous with their usage, but only half is allowed to be used by Fable. Separately, Opus is way more gentle with costs. Opus 5.5 on High is over 2x cheaper than Fable 5.1 High. The result is that, roughly, going from Fable 5.1 high to Opus 5.5 high is a 4.3x increase in limits. Fable 5.1 xhigh to Opus X ♥212
- @Ananth7eAnthropic didn't increase claude usage limits. let me explain: codex still gives you more overall usage than claude. that hasn't changed. but it doesn't feel that way. and the reason is opus 5.5. astra is a bigger, more expensive model priced at $10/$50. every task eats more of your usage. opus 5.5 is likely a smaller model and it's way cheaper at $4/$20. so even though claude provides less usage than codex, the limits on claude stretch a lot further because you're using opus 5.5. that'sX ♥221
